Twitter Applications

There are a number of applications that can help make the Twitter experience a more enjoyable and productive experience. There are also some applications that are fun or frivolous. We have compiled a list of seven applications that we think Twitterers might find useful or fun.

TwitPic – http://twitpic.com/ – share your pictures on Twitter. You can post the pictures from Twitpic’s API, directly from the site or from your phone. Several other applications, such as Twhirl and Twitterrific, support this application.

Twitdom – http://twitdom.com/ – a database of about 490 applications that have a variety of usefulness.

Twitter Search Bar – http://www.designmeme.com/twitter-search-bar/ – a plug-in for your browser that allows you to search for hot topics from the Twitter home page.

Twellow – http://www.twellow.com/ – a directory that has users sorted by interest making it easy to find people that you’d like to follow.

Twittearth – http://twittearth.com/ – a geographical interface where you can watch as people tweet around the globe.

Twi8r – http://twi8r.com/ – this handy app will translate shorthand to English and the reverse. Be confused no more by a post that seems to be a jumble of nonsense.

Phweet – http://phweet.com/ – this interface allows you to talk to other Tweeple without having to give out your phone number.

Twitthis – http://twitthis.com/ – a great tool to add to your blog. It allows viewers to tweet right from your blog and it includes a url shortner.
